General Course Description

There are an estimated 25 million methamphetamine users, with one-fifth of them living in the United States. This introductory course is based on Inside Out, a groundbreaking video-based treatment curriculum on methamphetamine addiction and recovery, which is a joint enterprise presented by UCLA Integrated Substance Abuse Programs, a leading research institution on the topic of methamphetamines, and Eyes of the World Media Group. The course presents an understanding of the biological basis of addiction, the experience of meth use and addiction from the perspective of addicts and professionals, and outlines the components of an effective program for recovery. It is aimed at both users and professionals who may treat them.

This research-based course, based on three high quality videos, presents the most up-to-date information and emphasizes the human impact of addiction by sharing personal stories of addicts and their families.
